We are pleased to announce a strategic alliance that marks a new chapter for the seafood sector in Europe: Grupo Diosmar, one of the top ten shrimp producers and exporters in Ecuador, has acquired the majority stake in Pescafacil, a Spanish company with more than 30 years of experience in shrimp processing.
This transaction represents the exit of the Lamar Group, owned by the Venezuelan Rincón family, and the entry of a strategic partner with a focus on integration and long-term growth.
Pescafacil, based in Burgos, has established itself as one of the five main seafood cookers in Spain, processing more than 5,000 metric tons per year and reaching a turnover of close to 34 million euros. Its specialization in vannamei prawns and its solid commercial network in Spain, Portugal and other European countries, make it an ideal partner for Grupo Diosmar.
For its part, Grupo Diosmar brings more than 22 years of experience in shrimp production and processing, with more than 6,000 hectares active in Ecuador, operated through its subsidiaries Procamaronex and Marecuador. This alliance allows it to guarantee a constant, competitive supply with the highest standards of quality and certification required by the European market.
The objective of this union is clear: to strengthen the value chain from the origin to the final consumer, combining Ecuador’s productive capacity with commercial and processing experience in Europe. Two family businesses that share vision, values and commitment, come together to grow organically and sustainably in an increasingly demanding environment.
With this alliance, Pescafacil and Grupo Diosmar begin a new stage of expansion, innovation and closeness to their customers.
